With Voice Mail from MTC, getting your messages is easy and convenient! You will always know you have received a message if you hear a stutter dial tone, or if you have a message indicator light on your phone and it is blinking. Or, if you’ve set your voice mail online to forward to your e-mail box, your voice mail messages will automatically show up in your in-box in real time.

To access and set-up your Voice Mail the first time:

  1. Dial 897-9906 or *318  if you are at home or within the MTC calling area.  If you are out of town, you will need to dial 1-620-897-9906 to access your voice mail. The first time you access your Voice Mail,  you will be prompted to set-up your PIN, record your name and choose your greeting.
  2. When prompted, you will enter a new PIN then press the # key, and then confirm.  MTC will provide you with a temporary PIN when you order your voice mail service.
  3. Next, when prompted, you will record your name and then press the # key. You may re-record by pressing 1.
  4. Finally, you will be prompted to choose your greeting:
  • If you would like to record your own greeting, press 1.
  • If you would like to choose an automated greeting that plays your recorded name, press 2.
  • If you would like to choose an automated greeting that states only your phone number, press 3.
  • If you would like to choose the standard automated greeting, press 4.

Important TIP: After the first time you access your Voice Mail service, you may access your Voice Mail by dialing your home phone number. When you  hear your message begin, press * and follow the prompts!

Once you have accessed and set-up your Voice Mail, you can do all of the things listed below.

Change your greeting:

  1. Access your voice mailbox.
  2. Press 3 for the greeting menu.
  3. Press 1 to record or change your personal greeting.
  4. Press 1 to accept the new greeting OR Press 2 to re-record OR Press 3 to exit without saving the new greeting.

Change your PIN:

  1. Access your voice mailbox.
  2. Press 4 for the mailbox settings.
  3. Press 3 for security options.
  4. Press 1 to enter your new PIN, then press the # key.
  5. When prompted to verify the PIN, enter it again and then press the # key.

Listen to your messages:

  1. Access your voice mailbox.
  2. When prompted, press 1 to listen to voice mail messages.
  3. Press 1 to listen to new messages.
  4. When you are listening to your message, you may:
  • Press 1 to listen to the message again
  • Press 2 to save the message
  • Press 3 to erase the message
  • Press 4 to reply to the message (if it is from another MTC voice mail customer)
  • Press 5 to forward the message to another MTC voice mail customer
  • Press # to leave the message before it is done playing and go to the next message

At any time while a message is playing you can:

  • Press 6 to make it louder
  • Press 7 to make it slower
  • Press 9 to make it faster

Listen to or restore an erased message:

  1. Access your voice mailbox.
  2. Press 6 to access the erased messages menu.
  3. Follow the prompts
