MTC Staff
Jimmy Todd, General Manager
Jimmy joined the MTC Team in January 2008 as the General Manager. Originally from Georgia, his military career has taken him all over the country and the world. His telecom experience has come from both small rural companies as well as the big telco corporations.

Sheldon Smith, Operations Manager
Sheldon is the MTC Operations Manager and has been working at MTC for over 30 years. Sheldon has truly “done it all” at MTC. He grew up in Little River and in 1975 was hired as a lineman. Sheldon is the third generation in his family to work for MTC following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather.
“It has been an almost daily challenge to keep up with the ever-changing communications technology. MTC is in the process of getting all our customers connected to the new fiber network, which will provide the most up-to-date services.”
Becky Erickson, Office Manager/Accountant
Becky is MTC’s accountant and office manager. She has been a part of Mutual Telephone Company since June 2007.
“Although I’m new to the telecom industry, I’ve been in the accounting field for the past 11 years. What I like most about MTC is the great group of people that I have the privilege of working with!”
Shayla is MTC’s Sales Manager and is involved in marketing as well. She has been with the company since January 2008. “I enjoy working at MTC with the employees and the customers. MTC offers great services and is expanding with the latest technology”Shayla is married to Gary and they have three children: Braeden, Kami and Kelltyn. She is involved in several community organizations. She enjoys spending time with her family and is an Oklahoma State fan.
OPERATIONS STAFF
Heath has been with Mutual Telephone Company since 1999 and is involved in all aspects of operations. 
John grew up in Glen Elder, KS, and now lives in Little River. John has been working for Mutual Telephone Company since August 2005. “Most of my time is spent with outside plant projects and central office equipment. I manage the wireless internet service and take care of all the equipment associated with this service.” His educational background includes Associates of Applied Science from Colby Community College. He is a graduate of North West Kansas Technical College in Telecommunications and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Technology Leadership from Fort Hays State University.
Rick joined the MTC team in June 2008 as MTC’s Operations Technician. He has been in the telecommunications industry for 15 years in various capacities. “I very much enjoy the work and atmosphere at our workplace. My co-workers and people of the community are very pleasant and great to work with. I’m hoping to work here for many years to come before I retire.”
Jason Crotinger
Jason Crotinger grew up in the Little River area attending school in Lyons, before continuing his education in Computer Electronics from North West Kansas Technical College as well as Certification Classes in PHP Scripting Language.
“I spend most of my time working on MTC’s new Advanced Digital TV deployment, but I can also be found working with any of the many technologies we offer. Working for MTC is never boring!”
Jimmy Lands
Jimmy works as an Operations Technician at MTC. He installs, manages and maintains internet, television and phone services that MTC provides. Jimmy was born in Denver, CO but was raised and currently lives in Salina.
Jimmy is a musician outside of work. He tours full time in a modern day rock band called The Breakpoint Method!
Mike Navarro
Mike works as an Operations Technician at MTC. He installs wireless Internet and other MTC services. Mike grew up in Lyons and still lives here today.
In his free time Mike enjoys hunting, fishing, camping and water skiing.
Eli Rundle
Eli graduated from North Central Kansas Technical College in Beloit, KS with a degree in Advanced Computer Information Technology in May 2011. Eli enjoys spending time outdoors, spending time with family and friends.
“I grew up in a small town and after college I ended up in a small town. Working for MTC has taught me a lot of things and traits I didn’t learn in college. Even with a college degree going into Telecommunications was a slight scare. Working with the people I do I have learned what it takes in this industry to fulfill customer needs”.
Josh Bieber
Josh works for MTC on the new MTC Tech Team. He started his first job in telecommunications/computer repair right after high school. He went on to receive a degree in INT (information networking and telecommunications) from FHSU. While attending college he worked for them to help maintain their staff/faculty computers. After graduating from FHSU he went on to work for Nex-Tech, a Rural Telephone Company, as an in-shop Brainy Bunch Tech and helpdesk technician. He was brought on board at MTC to bring the community a local stop for PC Repair and Service.
“I have always lived by Einstein’s saying, ”only true source of knowledge is experience”. It has driven me to continue my education into the technology world. Computers are my passion, my hobby, and my life”.
Doug Eller
Doug works for MTC as a construction technician. He bores in inner duct and fiber throughout the communities. Doug grew up mostly in Atwood, KS.
He and his wife Toni have four daughters, Danielle, Leisha, Brenna and Kylie.
Eric Ricker
Eric graduated in 2008 and attended Hutchinson Community College for Building Trades and Construction. He worked with the Dillons Company for four years before most recently working at Sellers Feedlot. Eric enjoys hunting, fishing, and horse back riding. He also enjoy attending K-State football games and spending time with family.
“I hope to have a long career with MTC. I really enjoy learning about the latest and greatest new services and technologies so we can continue to improve our customers’ broadband and entertainment experiences every day.”
Brian Haberman
Brian and his wife Rebecca have three children: Jacob, Isaac, and Aubrey.
“I have worked with various underground utilities around the Lawrence and K.C. areas for years and am excited to bring my experience to MTC.”
OFFICE STAFF
Gina Rugan
Gina is in charge of inventory at MTC. She also continues to work part time as a registered nurse. Not surprising since she really enjoys helping others! Gina is married to Gene and has 4 children and 6 grandchildren.

Vicki Williams
Vicki has been with Mutual Telephone Company since May 2000 as an office assistant. Vicki and her husband Jeff have three children.
“MTC has grown so much since I startd with MTC. Customers will benefit from our new technology, both in town and in the surrounding areas.”
Susan Wempe
Susan joined MTC in January 2012 as an office assistant after working in banking and county government for many years.
“I enjoy working with the MTC staff and their emphasis on customer service as they provide cutting edge technology to the community.”
MARKETING & SALES STAFF
Jessica joined the MTC team after graduating from Emporia State University where she majored in Marketing. She came on board at MTC in May of 2009 as the Marketing Assistant and now works out of the Lyons office. Jessica and her husband Tony also live in Lyons and are huge Kansas City Chiefs fans! “It’s great being part of a company where the atmosphere and co-workers make your job enjoyable. MTC continues to grow and be innovative without losing that small town business feel.”
Shelley Peverly
Shelley lives on a farm between Lyons and Geneseo with her husband Kirk who has been a farmer/stockman all his life. Shelly has a BA in elementary education and taught 5th grade in the Lyons School District. Shelley has two children, Dustin Frost who works for the Denver Broncos in Marketing, and Nickia Larsen who lives in Perry Georgia and is married to Andy, a US Marine. Nickia and Andy have given Shelley the greatest joy imaginabale, GRANDDAUGHTERS, Kyler and Maklyn.

Shelly Schafer
Shelly moved to Little River in 1995 after growing up in West Virginia. She joined MTC in December 2010. She and her husband, Jason have two sons, Cody and Tanner. They enjoy and participate in lots of sports (baseball being the favorite).
“I love working with great people and always enjoy meeting new people. MTC is growing every day and I find that very exciting and challenging. My favorite part of my job is helping customers and learning about new technology”.
Ryan Corwin
Ryan came on board to MTC in February of 2012 in the final semester of school at Sterling College, where he was majoring in Communications with a minor in Political Science.
Ryan grew up in Sterling and is currently working as a Customer Service Representative at the Sterling location.
Kipp Cordell
Kipp joined Mutual Telephone Company in May 2010, after graduating from Kansas State University with a degree in Business Management. He works in customer service and sales, and is also spearheading the development of local content for MTC TV.

Cale Cordell
Cale came on board at MTC in February 2012. He was born and raised in Little River. Cale now lives, works and coaches in Little River.
